All inclusive HSE manual for use in the auto-mechanical
industry. Targets industry specific health and safety issues
About this document
This is a comprehensive ‘all round’ manual for use in the auto-mechanical industry. It ensures that safety in your workshop or garage is given top priority. We have identified the main causes of accidents and ill health in garages and workshops and targeted these aspects in detail. Within the industry there are many different areas such as car repair, maintenance, sheet work and paint work to name a few. This manual deals with the most important health and safety issues within the industry as a whole.
We would love to include industry specific detail for every industry, but special processes entail specific risks. The more specialised and dangerous your operations, the more you must liaise with your H&S inspectorate and take detailed advice on aspects of your H&S policy which will require additions to your manual. What we have provided in this version is comprehensive and detailed provisions generally. As you will deduce from the size of these HSE manuals, they are very thorough.
It aids compliance with:
• Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
• The Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 2002
• The Working Time Regulations 1998
• The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992
• The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
• The Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995
• Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002
• The Confined Spaces Regulations 1997
• The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005
• The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992
