About this document: The ACAS code has had legal effect from October 2004. Accordingly, all employers must provide a disciplinary and grievance procedure, which follows the statutory requirements developed in Europe. This document follows those essential provisions,. Additionally, it is simple and fair.
The law exempts no one. It requires even the smallest employers to comply and it applies to directors' employment too.
In addition, we provide 9 example letters, as follows:

introducing amended contract of employment to comply with the new law;

suspending on full pay;

invoking and introducing the disciplinary procedure;

statement of grounds which lead you to contemplate disciplinary proceedings;

notes of disciplinary meeting - employer's decision deferred;
