There shall be paid to the Comptroller and Auditor General the same remuneration as is for the time being payable to a Secretary of a Department of State who is remunerated by reference to the rates of pay for general service grades, and the remuneration shall be charged upon and paid out of the Central Fund or the growing produce thereof.
Subsection (1) of section 2 of the Comptroller and Auditor-General Act, 1923 , section 2 of the Comptroller and Auditor General (Amendment) Act, 1947 , section 1 of the Comptroller and Auditor General (Amendment) Act, 1953 , and section 1 of the Comptroller and Auditor General (Amendment) Act, 1959 , are hereby repealed.
